Day 1: Arrival in Axum - Ancient Capital

Begin your historical journey in Axum, the heart of ancient Ethiopian civilization. Visit the towering obelisks (stelae) including the Great Stele, once the largest single stone monument in the ancient world. Explore the archaeological museum and the legendary Queen of Sheba's Palace ruins. Day 3: Yeha Temple and Debre Damo Monastery

Journey to Yeha, site of Ethiopia's oldest standing structure - a 5th-century BC temple built by the Sabaean civilization. Explore the ruins and adjacent museum housing ancient artifacts. Continue to Debre Damo Monastery, accessible only by climbing a 15-meter rope up a sheer cliff face (optional for physically able visitors; others can view from below). This 6th-century monastery is one of Ethiopia's most important religious sites, housing ancient manuscripts and unique architecture. Return to Axum for overnight.
